Last updated: January 2026 · sss.gov.ph · SSS Circular 2023-013 · New: Facial Authentication March 2026

What is the SSS ACOP Program?

The Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) is SSS’s annual proof-of-life program for pension recipients. Every year during your birth month, you must confirm to SSS that you are still alive and receiving your pension. This prevents pension payments from continuing to deceased members and protects the SSS fund.

Missing your ACOP deadline has serious consequences — your monthly pension is automatically suspended one month after your birth month if you do not comply. If the suspension continues for two years without compliance, your pension is permanently cancelled. Resumption after suspension takes up to two months to process, during which you receive no payment.

⚠️ ACOP Deadlines — Critical

Comply during your birth month every year.
Pension suspended: 1 month after birth month if not complied.
Pension cancelled: 2 years from month of suspension.

How to Comply — 3 Options

SSS now offers three ways to comply with ACOP. Choose whichever is most convenient for your situation.

Option 1 — Facial Authentication Online (New 2026)

SSS launched facial authentication with liveness check in March 2026 — the easiest option for eligible pensioners. No branch visit required.

  1. Go to sss.gov.ph and click “Submit ACOP compliance”
  2. Confirm you are registered in the National ID System (PhilSys)
  3. Accept the Data Sharing Consent
  4. Enter your SS Number and date of birth
  5. Confirm your name — click Yes
  6. Take a live selfie for liveness check using any camera-enabled device
  7. Screenshot or print the confirmation page

Currently available for: retirement pensioners aged 80 and above residing in the Philippines. SSS is expanding this to more pensioner types. Requires PhilSys National ID registration.

Option 2 — Video Conference (MS Teams or Viber)

Schedule a video call with your SSS branch — suitable for pensioners who cannot travel but do not have PhilSys registration.

  1. Go to the SSS appointment system at sss.gov.ph
  2. Under Purpose, select “Compliance to Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP)”
  3. Under Type of compliance, select “ACOP through video conference”
  4. Under Preferred channel, choose MS Teams or Viber
  5. Select your Region, Branch, date, and time
  6. Attend the video call on the scheduled date with your valid ID ready

Option 3 — In-Person at SSS Branch

Visit any SSS branch, service office, or foreign office during your birth month. Bring a valid government-issued ID. No appointment needed for ACOP compliance at most branches, but you can set one through the SSS appointment system to avoid waiting.

For total disability pensioners who cannot travel — request a home visit by submitting a written request via mail or email to the Medical Services Section of the SSS branch nearest to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

My pension was suspended — how do I resume it?

Comply with ACOP at any SSS branch or through the available online options. Once compliance is verified, resumption of your pension takes up to two months. All accrued pensions from the date of suspension will be credited to your account — you will receive the back payments you missed during the suspension period.

Can a representative comply on my behalf?

Yes — a representative can comply on behalf of dependent minor or incapacitated pensioners. For retirement and disability pensioners, personal compliance is generally required except in cases of physical incapacity where a home visit can be arranged. Contact your nearest SSS branch for the specific requirements for representative compliance.

I live abroad — how do I comply?

OFWs and pensioners abroad can comply through SSS Foreign Offices, by email to the corporate email address of the nearest SSS foreign office, or through the video conference option. SSS has foreign offices and representative offices in major OFW destinations. Find contact details at sss.gov.ph.

Do I need to comply every year even if I already complied last year?

Yes — ACOP compliance is required every year during your birth month, for as long as you receive a pension. There are no exceptions for pensioners who complied the previous year. Mark your birth month on your calendar each year and comply early to avoid any risk of suspension.
