What is PSSLAI?
PSSLAI is a savings and loan association established on 1 July 2003 for the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and their immediate family members, together with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) and the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC). It offers Regular Membership to active and retired PNP and BFP personnel, and Associate Membership to their legal spouses and children and to PPSC and NAPOLCOM employees.
One thing to be clear about up front: PSSLAI is not a government agency. It is a member-owned association that is authorised and regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and endorsed by the PNP, BFP and PPSC leadership. That matters because your money there is not a statutory deduction like SSS or Pag-IBIG — it is a membership you join, save into and borrow against by choice.
The model is simple. You build a balance through Capital Contribution (CapCon) and savings accounts, and that balance plus your monthly salary or pension determines how much you can borrow. Repayments come off automatically through salary deduction for active personnel or pension deduction for retirees, which is why approval is fast and why proceeds can be released in as little as one hour.

Important: PSSLAI does not publish a standing interest rate for salary, pension or back-to-back loans. The only rate it advertises for those products is the 5.5% per annum promo, which it describes as “subject to promo availability” and ties to a 12-month term and a ₱300,000 maximum. Vehicle and motorcycle loans are the exception — those carry a published rate card by term, shown above. Treat any other salary-loan interest rate you see quoted online as unverified until PSSLAI states it.
